Dear Parents of Pioneer Ward Primary Children:

We are so excited to study the Book of Mormon in primary this year.  Our desire is that each of the children will grow in testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, that Christ is their Savior, and that Joseph Smith is a true prophet who restored the gospel to the earth.

To this end, our primary has instituted the following for 2020:

• A scripture each month, taken from the Come, Follow Me reading assignments, to study and learn.
• A bookmark, given to each child, listing our monthly scriptures with a place beside each for parent initials.  During the assigned month, we encourage you to study the listed scripture with your child as part of your family Come, Follow Me lessons.  When your child has memorized the passage (or their appropriate ability equivalent... you know your child best), initial in the blank box beside the scripture.  Your child can then show the presidency their bookmark on Sunday to get a small treat.
• A song or two each month that confirm the lessons in primary and strengthen testimonies of the essential principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  To deepen your children's understanding of these songs and to help us prepare for the primary program (during Sacrament Meeting on September 27), we ask you to sing these songs with your children, play them at home and in the car often, and include them in your Come, Follow Me lessons.
• An online blog, at pioneerprimaryhws.blogspot.com (that's hws for Highland West Stake) where you can access the selected scripture verses, links to the selected primary songs and hymns, a calendar of scheduled activities, and other updates.  You will be (or have been) sent a confirmation of subscription to the blog that we hope you will accept so that you will receive our communications.  Once subscribed, all blog updates will be sent to your email, keeping you informed of all primary happenings.  These will go out once per month or less, so please read them thoroughly.  You can also visit the blog at any time to reference the links, check the calendar, etc.

We appreciate your support and hope that what we do in primary will enhance and support the Come, Follow Me experiences in your home.
